The Job Network program shows results

Published: Monday, November 2, 2009 9:17 AM CST
The early results from our new “Super Sized Ads” program have been outstanding. Super sized ads produce an average of four times more applicants than ads that are not super sized, and they are generating a new, highly profitable revenue stream for newspapers .

The “Super Size Me” Program

How does the program work? The Job Network has recently formed partnerships with 17 major job boards as well as developing relationships with a number of vertical sites. For your advertisers this means more people will see their ad and apply to their job posting. It doesn’t matter if the position is for a low end blue collar job, a highly skilled manager position or medical specialist. It works! It’s all about exposure!

Today over thirty percent of all jobs are filled by people who look online. It doesn’t even matter if the business doesn’t have a computer or Internet access; if a job seeker sees the ad online and responds by calling the employer or sending a resume, the online ad worked.

Job Network beats Monster.com

To gauge the value of this new network, The Job Network has paid to post several of the same jobs to Monster.com and The Job Network. The Job Network beat Monster.com by 7-to-1 based on the number of applicants. So your local advertisers can pay Monster.com $395 to post an ad and hope to get results or they can pay you to run the ad in print and have it “Super Sized” online for close to the same amount, and in some cases for less.

Based on our test, the advertiser could get as much as 7 times the results than if they had advertised with Monster.com. Along with the great results, they can grade and rank applicants, which saves time in the hiring process as they no longer have to weed out unqualified applicants.

How much extra value is that if it saves the employer days or even hours in the hiring process? Remember the other big job boards like Monster.com won’t do that for employers. The bottom line is you can generate a higher margin of business while providing added value.

Someone might say finding applicants isn’t a problem in this current economic situation so they don’t need “Super Sized Ads”. The fact is that the current economic situation has made hiring good staff much more difficult because now employers are getting overloaded with poor quality applicants.

It is all about getting maximum exposure for the advertiser, then matching, grading and ranking applicants. At the end of the day, all employers want is a few highly qualified applicants and that’s what you can deliver. For that they are willing to pay you more!

Early results show success

Dave Newman, the advertising classified manager at The Standard Examiner in Ogden, Utah says, “Our early results with the “Super Sized Ads” program have been outstanding. Not only are we generating lots of new highly profitable revenue, but our advertisers are seeing results. Advertisers that used to feel our paper didn’t produce the results they wanted are finding now that we are able to help them quickly fill their open positions while doing a better job than the big major job boards and often at a lower cost.”
